🎻 Scheherazade closes the Pittsburgh Symphony season at Heinz Hall: Rimsky-Korsakov's Arabian-Nights showpiece, Korngold's Violin Concerto with Stefan Jackiw, and a shimmering Salina Fisher opener. Three nights, Friday to Sunday.

Schenley Park does Friday-after-work right: a free pop-up beer garden at the Visitor Center with a local food vendor, live music, and a lawn that wants your blanket. Walk up, bring friends.

Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy kicks off the season at Schenley Plaza, with free PNC Carousel rides, face painting, lawn games, plus a Mary Poppins cameo at the plaza named for her.

The National Aviary celebrates World Parrot Day a day early, with kid-friendly activities throughout the rainforest habitat and a special parrot meet-and-greet on the schedule.

Mr. Smalls' fourth annual indie film fest screens a curated reel of horror, thriller, and sci-fi trailers and hands out screenplay awards. Pittsburgh Moving Picture Festival, free to walk in.

Dillon Francis and Flosstradamus team up at the Roxian Theatre for a back-to-back set, the closest McKees Rocks gets to a name-on-the-marquee EDM party all year. Pack water and earplugs.

The day game closes the three-game homestand against the Twins, the classic baseball-in-shorts move and the family-friendliest slot at PNC Park.

Allegheny RiverTrail Park returns for its third annual free family day along the river, partnered with State Rep Mandy Steele, with fitness activities, kids' programming, and community vendors at the trailhead.
